HOW CAN I IMMIGRATE TO CANADA?

Canada

WHEN SEEKING INFORMATION ABOUT IMMIGRATION

When you ask an immigrant this question, the first thing to consider is that immigration is a personal experience, unique to each individual or family. It varies based on factors such as family structure, economic background, education and work experience, and proficiency in English and/or French. Loving Canada, adjusting to it, becoming part of the system, finding a job, changing jobs, choosing where to live—everything related to life essentially builds a bridge to your past.

When you arrive in Canada, there’s no need to forget everything you've experienced or to change your culture and way of thinking overnight. However, not being flexible and not making an effort to adapt to a new system, lifestyle, and mindset can delay your integration, which might make it harder to find what you’re looking for. On this journey, your experiences will always be yours and will remain unique

Canada Immigration Programs

There are numerous programs for coming to Canada. Canada is a country that takes a welcoming approach to immigration, viewing it as an opportunity for economic and social development, rejuvenating the population, and fostering economic, commercial, and friendly relations with other countries. Laws and decisions regarding immigration are under the responsibility of the Federal Government.

Canada is increasingly watched with interest worldwide due to its valuable natural resources, vast land area, high economic and educational standards, respect for human rights and freedom of thought, and a culture that highlights sharing, diversity, and multiculturalism.

Why Monitoring and Regulation?

For many newcomers to Canada, working with a professional immigration or citizenship consultant is a step toward a better future. Being part of a self-regulating profession that helps so many people is a privilege. This privilege also comes with the responsibility of understanding and fulfilling the professional and ethical obligations required of an immigration and citizenship consultant.

You can check whether the consultant you are considering working with is a licensed, regulated, and continuously trained professional by visiting the following link:

Temporary Resident Programs

As the name of these programs suggests, they are intended for individuals who are expected to return to their home country once the purpose of their visit—such as work, business, or a program—is completed. Some programs that initially begin as Temporary Residence can later lead to Permanent Residence, provided that the necessary conditions are met.

Visitors

A Canadian Visitor Visa is an official document issued by the Government of Canada that allows foreign nationals to enter Canada temporarily for tourism, business, or to visit family and friends. It is typically a temporary resident visa (TRV) and is required for citizens of certain countries to enter Canada, unless they come from a visa-exempt country.

International Students

It is the type of visa/permit that foreign students who have been accepted into a program longer than six months at an institution approved to offer education are required to obtain. This is also a requirement even if you are coming from a visa-exempt country.

Temporary Workers

To work long-term in Canada, you must have a Work Permit. Work permits are a type of visa/permit that can be issued based on various programs, and they must be compatible with them. If the necessary steps are not in place, an application for a work permit will not be submitted.

Please always remember that eligibility criteria and requirements may change frequenty. When you are ready to make any application you should check with IRCC website or consult with an immigration professional.

Permanent Resident Programs

The largest category of quotas allocated by Canada for its immigration programs is Economic Class Programs. Provincial and Federal programs are subcategories within this area. Family Sponsorships can also be included in this category.

Visit Canada

Economic migration is one of the most common immigration categories for individuals seeking permanent residence in Canada.

The most well-known categories include:

  • Federal Skilled Worker (FSW)

  • Canadian Experience Class (CEC)

  • Federal Skilled Trades (FST)

  • Investors, Entrepreneurs, and Self-Employed Person

Some of these programs are directly overseen by the Federal Government, while others are developed and implemented by Provincial Governments, with final approval authority resting with the Federal Government.

Family Sponsorships

Family Sponsorships Canada

This program is designed to open the path to Canadian citizenship for the spouses, children, parents, and grandparents of adult Canadian citizens or Permanent Residents, with the goal of keeping families together. Although babies born in Canada are automatically Canadian citizens, this does not grant automatic citizenship rights to their parents.
